Groundbreaking Model of Care for Elderly Starts in Missoula Montana

For Maurika Moore, the CEO of Hestia In-Home Support http://www.hestiainhomesupport.com/ of Missoula, the goal is to allow elderly people to live at home – where they’re comfortable – while they receive the medical care and other support that they need, all without breaking the bank. It’s an idea that goes against the traditional way of thinking. Many families believe that in-home care is far too expensive or far less comprehensive than assisted living. Moore aims to change that.

Hestia (the ancient Greek goddess of the home) is a physician-led, locally owned for-profit practice that works with a full interdisciplinary team to provide in-home services patients who are mostly in their 80s and 90s who don’t want to move to an assisted-living facility but who don’t need hospice care. The company works with nurses, massage therapists, physical therapists, a dental hygienist, a life coach and more to visit patients in their home.
