Report: National parks generate millions for Montana, Wyoming

More than 4.5 million visitors to national parks in Montana in 2014 spent $432.1 million in the state, according to a National Park Service report released Thursday.
Montana park visitors’ spending supported 7,604 jobs and had a cumulative benefit to the state economy of $599.7 million. It also represents an 8.7 percent increase in spending and 7.2 percent rise in visitation over 2013.
Wyoming park visitors spent an estimated $773.3 million in local gateway regions, supporting a total of 11,200 jobs, $322.8 million in labor income, $563.7 million in value added, and $963 million in economic output in the Wyoming economy.
