House to reconsider closing Montana Developmental Center

The House of Representatives will reconsider a bill to close the Montana Developmental Center after voting by a thin margin to defeat the measure on Thursday.

Representatives rejected the measure by a vote of 51-49 with thirty Democrats and 21 Republicans voting against the closure.

Republican Rep. Bill Harris of Winnett, who carried the bill for sponsor Sen. Mary Caferro, D-Helena, made the motion to reconsider shortly afterward.
