Loyola Scared Heart Student Keegan Nicholson Recognized Nationally for Refurbishing Laptops in Missoula, Montana

A Loyola Sacred Heart High School senior is getting national recognition for helping students who can’t afford laptop computers.

Keegan Nicholson http://www.laptopsforstudents.gardencitydjs.com/ was one of two Montana students selected by the Prudential Spirit of Community Award to represent the state in Washington, D.C. Since 8th grade Nicholson has been refurbishing old and broken computers and giving them to students who need them for free.

"A lot of students can’t afford laptops in public schools and at UM and I started to refurbish these and realized it was a need more than I realized," Nicholson said.

Nicholson has given the refurbished computers to students across Missoula and the Bitterroot Valley. He wants to expand his program nationwide.
