An Introvert’s Advice for Getting Ahead

Thirty-two-year-old Jess Lee is the chief executive and co-founder of Polyvore Inc., a website where users can assemble outfits and mark potential purchases. Before joining the Mountain View, Calif., company in 2008, she was a product manager at Google Inc., working on Google Maps. A self-described introvert who would rather be working behind the scenes than at the center, she landed the top job at Polyvore by leveraging her strengths and pushing outside of her comfort zone.
