U of I students win $40,000 entrepreneur contest at BSU

Eight university teams from around Idaho competed in the months-long Idaho Entrepreneur Challenge, hosted by Boise State University and sponsored by Zions Bank.

The winning team from University of Idaho developed MotoTrax, a system that converts dirt bikes into snowmobiles for winter riding. Team members Randy Gentry, Tallie Gentry and Zak Garrett, earned the $40,000 grand prize for business development.

A Boise State team took the $15,000 second place for developing Vivid Roots, a lifestyle apparel brand that donates a portion of sales to clean water initiatives around the world. The BSU team members are Dallas Crum, Trever Bostrom, Dylan Carlson and Connor Kingbury.
