Mayor: Bozeman needs to ‘eat its vegetables’ on infrastructure

Between costly infrastructure needs and a likely decline in tax revenues, Bozeman will face some hard choices as it considers its budget for next year, Mayor Jeff Krauss said in his annual "State of the City" address Monday evening.
"Growth doesn’t pay for itself," he said, saying that the city can’t expect to place the entire cost of things like building out road networks in Bozeman’s northwest quadrant solely on new residents without pushing development out into the county.
