U.S. Sen. Jon Tester secures $1.1 million for Montana Tech research

A total $1.1 million for research and development at Montana Tech from the Army Research Lab has been secured, U.S. Sen. Jon Tester, D-Mont., announced Monday.

The money supports Tech’s efforts to reduce the cost, environmental impact and foreign dependence of strategic minerals and metals that are used for military technologies, a news release said. These technologies include jet engines, magnets for precision guided weaponry and night vision goggles
