Scott Kupor, managing partner at Andreessen Horowitz draws techie crowd in Boise

Scott Kupor isn’t a household name, but he’s certainly a big deal in CEO offices at tech companies around the Treasure Valley.

On Monday, more than 200 packed into Downtown’s new tech meeting space, the Trailhead, at the intersection of Myrtle and 8th streets. The event was organized by Startup Grind Boise, a chapter of a national group working to promote entrepreneurs and start-ups.

The crowd, which included Boise and Idaho officials as well as executives from many of Boise’s successful tech companies, came out in force to see Kupor. He’s a managing partner at Andreessen Horowitz http://a16z.com/ , an industry powerhouse with more than $4 billion invested in tech companies in 2014, according to the Wall Street Journal.

Matt Rissell, CEO of Eagle timecard software developer TSheets, said the crowd made up a "who’s who list" of area tech leaders.
