EQUUS International Film Festival® Returns to Montana – Call for Entries

We’re very pleased to announce the launch of the EQUUS International Film Festival® http://www.equusinternationalfilmfestival.com this year.

EIFF is the first all equine film festival with a special focus on the equine/human bond.

EIFF will be held in Missoula, Montana this September 2015. This event is an outreach project of the not for profit equine rescue, adoption & education organization, Horse Haven Montana. We believe that film is one of the most powerful tools for change and a film event of this kind can change and hopefully improve the future for thousands of horses worldwide through education, awareness and understanding.

EIFF celebrates the horse and the people who tell their stories. The festival is equine-focused with a special presentation planned this year on The Role of the Horse in Native American Life, Culture, & History. Many events will be held on the campus of the University of Montana and throughout historic downtown Missoula. Features, documentaries, television programs, and other types of videos and media on equine related topics, issues and stories are invited. There are no restrictions other than that the focus of the programming is equine-related.

All programming is welcome and there is no restriction to production year or distribution date. Please send us your best quality programs for judging and possible screening and awards if selected.

Our mission — education & understanding to enhance the equine/human bond & to improve the welfare of the horse and other equines through film, television & other media. Lack of education, awareness and understanding are key to the thousands of horses dying every year, abandoned, left homeless, starving or sent to slaughter. But just as many are loved and celebrated as equine athletes, trail horses, in equine sports and a wide range of other "arenas." We believe that a film festival of this kind can make a difference while also celebrating the horse, the people and filmmakers behind their stories, and the entire equine field.

EIFF’s Call for Entries runs from February 1-May 1, with a late entry deadline of June 1.
