Young lawmakers making Montana a leader in digital privacy
February 2, 2015 /
Whether it’s government cameras recording you in public places, or police seeking your emails or other private communication, a group of young, tech-savvy Montana lawmakers says it’s time to make it harder for the man to snoop in your digital stuff.
"I’m a very liberty-minded individual," says Rep. Daniel Zolnikov, R-Billings, the sponsor of several bills at the 2015 Legislature to enhance digital privacy in Montana. "I just believe in a limited role of the state in an individual’s lives. It’s because we have liberty-minded people on both sides of the (political) aisle that … Montana can lead on this."
