Bullock touts pre-K benefits in Great Falls

There’s a lot of data that points out the success of Great Falls’ publicly funded pre-kindergarten program that Gov. Steve Bullock is hoping will help motivate the Montana Legislature to support his $37 million Early Edge proposal.

On Wednesday, Bullock visited a kindergarten classroom at West Elementary School once again and spoke with a teacher and a couple of parents about the benefits they believe Great Falls Public Schools Early Learning Family Center has had on students’ readiness to learn in kindergarten.

On Friday, the joint appropriations subcommittee on education will take up the portion of House Bill 2 where Bullock is proposing the increased spending to add optional pre-kindergarten programs with certified teachers and curriculum across the state.
