Zuckerberg brings a national book club to the Internet

Mark Zuckerberg is bringing the book club to the Internet age.

Every year, Zuckerberg tackles a personal challenge (learn Mandarin was one), and for 2015 the Facebook CEO plans to read roughly two books a month.

And, naturally, he’s planning to do it with us on Facebook, inviting his millions of Facebook friends to join a virtual book club. He’s already notched 200,000 "likes."

It is an experiment of sorts. Facebook has long seen itself as the global platform that connects the world. But chock-full as it is of snippets from people’s lives, Facebook rarely feels like a collective meeting place.

Can Zuckerberg change that?
