Mountain Madness Airshow celebrates $51,057 in non-profit organizations donations

Airshow’s 800 volunteers give invest in local community

The Kalispell Chamber of Commerce http://www.kalispellchamber.com announced today that the 2014 Mountain Madness Airshow donated $51,057 to 48 local non-profit organizations for the help provided by 800 volunteers. The funds were earned through volunteer hours for help on concessions and parking.

"The airshow’s volunteers showed incredible professionalism. We had 24 volunteers working our booths and everyone had a great time," explained Tim Norton of the Flathead Marines. "As a non-profit, we’re always searching for fundraising opportunities, and the airshow is one of the best."

Formed in 2008, the Flathead Marines is a non-profit organization composed of hundreds of Marines celebrating their service in the Marine Corps.

"The Airshow wouldn’t have been possible without the dedication of our volunteers," said Chris Parson, airshow director and Vice President of the Kalispell Chamber. "The amount raised illustrates the breadth and overall economic impact of an event like the Mountain Madness Airshow. We’re grateful for an opportunity to partner with the community to benefit our area non-profits"

The Mountain Madness Airshow featured the USAF Thunderbirds on August 30 and 31, 2014. Approximately 25,000 spectators, hailing from Canada, Washington, Idaho, and Montana, attended the show.
