Gov. Bullock touts pre-kindergarten plan as economic driver in Missoula

Gov. Steve Bullock spent Wednesday in Missoula promoting his plan to fund early childhood education, a move that would make pre-kindergarten programs available to all Montana 4-year-olds.

Bullock, who described his plan as a future economic driver and jobs builder, will bring the $37 million proposal to the 2015 Legislature, and he’s traveling the state to win support.

"I don’t think we can wait another 21 years to get this going," Bullock said. "This has been seen in other states as an economic development and equalization opportunity, but we’re one of the only Legislatures where this has never happened."
