Special Education Attorney

Disability Rights Montana http://disabilityrightsmt.org is seeking an Attorney with litigation experience to work in our Education
Work Unit. The Education Work Unit advocates on behalf of children with disabilities who receive
special education services, will transition out of high school, or are in need of Medicaid or other
support services.

Duties will include conducting and supervising investigations and systemic reform efforts and
individual representation in formal and informal legal proceedings.

Applicant must have the following:

* Licensed and in good standing to practice law in the state of Montana or admitted to the
State Bar of Montana within one year of date of hire.

* Have experience in the following areas of practice:

– Special Education

– Medicaid

– Disabilities and the disability system.

* Have at least five years experience with litigation.

* Have some supervisory or leadership experience.

Position will be located in Helena, Montana. Travel will be required. Salary is commensurate with

Advocacy Specialist
Disability Rights Montana http://disabilityrightsmt.org seeks to hire an Advocacy Specialist to work in our Core Services Unit.

The Core Services Unit provides information and referrals to people with disabilities and the public
inquiring about services, programs, and the civil rights of people with disabilities. The Core
Services Unit also determines client eligibility for agency services based on Federal laws and
Agency priorities.

Applicant must be self motivated, have the ability to problem solve through research, demonstrate
proficient writing skills, possess basic computer knowledge, and be able to communicate effectively
with people with disabilities, family members, and providers.
Five years of qualifying experience required; or a Bachelor’s Degree and three years of qualifying
experience.

Position is located in Helena, Montana. Some travel may be required. Salary is commensurate with
