Net zero home: Couple builds house that generates as much energy as it uses
September 26, 2014 /
Sidney and Belenda Mehlschmidt don’t fear their electric bill.
As owners of what could be the Bitterroot Valley’s first zero net home, the Mehlschmidts’ electric bill for the past four months has come in at $5.25 a month.

If things go as planned, the couple doesn’t expect to ever pay more than that to keep their home well heated and the lights shining.
