September 24, 2014/
Mitch Everts, a University of Montana student and member of a local think tank has drafted legislation he believes will give students more options to repay their college debt, and do so in a shorter period of time.
Mitch Everts, a political science and pre-law student at UM, spent his September crafting what he refers to as the People’s Bill http://thepeoplesbill.com/ , allowing students to repay their college loans by opting to withhold an additional percentage of their income taxes.
"It’s an issue I care about," Everts said Wednesday. "I know a lot of people that have been affected by student loans over a significant period of time. They deserve an additional, viable opportunity to pay off their student loans."
