Missoula Assets Mapping, 10/1-3, Missoula, Montana
|September 24, 2014||View for printing|
For the first time in nearly 20 years, the City of Missoula is updating its growth policy, the visionary document charting the course for the next 20 years of growth and development. The City is organizing the growth policy update around the unifying land use and development theme "Focus Inward", which acknowledges the value of sensible and smart town-centered growth. Learn more about the City's effort at the Our Missoula webpage, http://www.ourmissoula.org.
The Sonoran Institute, via its Community Builders initiative, is assisting in the growth policy update via a project called Assets Mapping. Assets Mapping is a values-based approach to community engagement that uses citizen input to identify and visualize physical assets within the community. Ultimately, asset mapping results in a series of maps that depict the location of assets, including where they overlap.
