Bozeman-based Beartooth Radio, Inc. designing cellphone add-on to help skiers, first responders talk despite poor reception

A Montana powder day can inspire many feelings, but the inspiration to found a technology company isn’t often among them.

But that’s what happened to a seemingly unlikely pair of friends, former Wall Street businessman Michael Monaghan and a former smokejumper Kevin Ames, who had lost each other early one powder day at Bridger Bowl during the 2012 winter and weren’t able to meet back up until the afternoon.
