$7.5M pledged via Kickstarter for Helena native’s "Coolest Cooler" idea

Helena native Ryan Grepper has what he thinks is a great idea, and so do more than 38,000 other people to the tune of more than $7.5 million dollars and counting.

Grepper, a Capital High School graduate who now lives in Oregon, was featured on CBS This Morning http://www.cbsnews.com/videos/coolest-cooler-inventor-on-the-advantages-of-crowdfunding/ last week to talk about the Coolest Cooler, an invention that includes speakers, a rechargeable blender, and an LED light among other high-tech features https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/ryangrepper/coolest-cooler-21st-century-cooler-thats-actually .

He decided to pitch his "cool" idea to the public via Kickstart, a crowd-funding site that enables people to donate money to help get the product launched, usually in exchange for a t-shirt, cup, or some other token of appreciation.
