The Blackstone Charitable Foundation is providing Montana with a three year $2 million grant to increase entrepreneurship in Montana. The Blackstone LaunchPad program is a national model for fostering entrepreneurship through higher education. It encourages entrepreneurial thinking among university students as well as faculty and alumni for the purpose of incubating a new generation of entrepreneurs.

The program is a partnership between Montana State University, the University of Montana and Headwaters RC&D. It pairs students with coaches who help them develop their business ideas. As the student’s ideas mature, Blackstone LaunchPad connects students with experienced entrepreneurs, lawyers, accountants, venture capitalists and others with professional expertise to help bring their businesses to market. The program is voluntary and completely open to all students on campus.
