Bear Paw revolving loans spur Hi-Line Montana growth

Bear Paw Development Corp. http://www.bearpaw.org/ wants to spur downtown revitalization in five Hi-Line counties and two Indian reservations with the $4 million available in its regular revolving loan fund and $1 million in a new revolving loan fund for a Brownfields program, which involves cleanup and redevelopment of polluted property.

"We never know what business opportunities might walk through the door, from value-added agricultural projects to a quilting shop in Harlem," said Paul Tuss, executive director of the private, non-profit development agency for 14 years. "But we’re really seeking investment proposals to make the downtowns in our communities more vibrant, active and successful."

Bear Paw Development is based in Havre and covers Liberty, Hill, Chouteau, Blaine and Phillips counties and Fort Belknap and Rocky Boy’s Indian reservations.
