Hoplite Industries opens in Butte’s Thornton Technology Enterprise Center

 
Butte- Silver Bow Chief Executive Matt Vincent announced that Hoplite Industries http://www.hopliteindustries.com/ , a software cyber-security company is opening in MERDI’S   Technology Enterprise Center http://www.merdi.org/?page_id=305 .
 
Hoplite Industries President/CEO, Anthony Cochenour , confirmed his firm is locating in the MERDI Technology Enterprise Center. His firm specializes in the development of high-end security software systems and network protection.   Mr. Cochenour said, "the MERDI Thornton Building with its data center access to high speed/ high capacity broadband creates the perfect atmosphere for our company to launch our new product. The  data center’s secure environment  and the full suite of services such as connectivity in and out of Butte, redundant power and cooling systems, low latency and high-speed broadband  is exactly what technology firms like ours need to grow and prosper."
 
 
"This is a really successful jumpstart for attracting high technology and software firms through the new Community Fiber Optic Network and we expect to develop greater interest as the information technology-based economy takes hold in Butte," Vincent added.

The 28-mile community fiber optic network was developed in 2013 by MERDI, Siafu, Fatbeam and the Butte School District, with support from the Dennis and Phyllis Washington Foundation, Butte-Silver Bow, Headwaters RC&D and Butte Local Development Center for future education and economic development.

"Now is the time to push forward and take advantage of this fiber optic network – establish an Butte Innovation District —   and to continue the collaboration that has gotten us here and will continue to move Butte into the 21st Century, " Vincent concluded.  "Butte is Montana’s first gigabit city. What we have here in terms of education and economic development opportunities and our quality of life is second to none."
