Developer tour highlights opportunity in places we overlook – Missoula Economic Partnership

Most people who choose to live in Missoula do so because of what’s here. Often they come because they were offered a great job or accepted into the University of Montana. Perhaps the friendly people or the vibrant cultural scene attracted them. Usually scenery plays a role in the decision.

Professional developers are like the rest of us in many ways. They want to do work in thriving, healthy communities. If all other elements are equal, they prefer to undertake projects in places where they’ll enjoy spending a lot of time, as they will on any significant project.

Developers who visit Missoula are always keen to see what’s here. But just as importantly, they want to see what’s not here. They want to find the empty lot next to the bustling shopping center. They want to talk to the folks who own the corn patch between the two new apartment complexes.

They’re looking for untapped opportunity.
