Butte Silver Bow County ranks high on NY Times list of places to live
June 28, 2014 /
It’s not news to folks here, but life in Butte isn’t too bad.
The New York Times slotted Silver Bow County just outside the top third of the nation in a new database measuring quality of life. The newspaper ranked each of the country’s 3,135 counties using a variety of economic and health statistics to create an index of how hard — or easy — it is to live in a place.
Butte-Silver Bow Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Marko Lucich judged Silver Bow’s rank as "quite accurate," but noted that some preferences aren’t so easily quantified.
"Personally, I think we’re probably in the top 10," he said with a chuckle.
