Conference prepares Butte’s future leaders
"When a community acts like youth matter and listens to them," she said, "it changes the town."
Melissa Ruschetti knows Butte inside and out. The to-be senior at Montana Tech graduated from Butte High School. She’s seen what’s good, what’s bad, and everything in between. And now she wants the chance — as a young adult — to lead her community.
"We’re in it; we know what’s going on," she said.
The Youth Action Conference held Wednesday zeroed in on that idea. Organized by Habitat for Humanity and the Imagine Butte Resource Center, it offered anyone between the ages of 16 and 24 a chance to create a vision for Butte’s future.
