The beauty of Montana’s Big Hole Valley
When I first moved to Montana, I remember thinking I would never tire of my adopted state’s natural beauty. After living in New Orleans and Chicago for years, I didn’t believe it was possible to ever get used to seeing snow-capped peaks, endless panoramic views, wildlife, forests and rivers.
But years have passed and, I must admit, I now sometimes take Montana’s stunning vistas for granted as I barrel through mountain passes on my way to get from Point A to Point B.
However, over Memorial Day weekend, I ventured to Montana’s Big Hole Valley http://bigholevalley.com/ for the first time, and I was completely blown away by the area’s stunning beauty. As we drove south on Highway 43 from Wisdom to Jackson, the whole earth seemed to open up around us into an endless expanse of brilliant green that only ended as the flat valley suddenly extended upward into towering, snowy mountains.
