Beyond Completion: Enabling Governors to Evaluate the Outcomes of Postsecondary Education

With the U.S. economy increasingly demanding a more educated workforce, states are looking to colleges and universities to more effectively and efficiently meet the demand for better educating citizens, according to an issue brief released by the National Governors Association (NGA).
Fiscal pressures are affecting states’ ability to invest in postsecondary education and other competing priorities. Governors are expecting postsecondary leaders to demonstrate the effectiveness and efficiency of continued investments in educational institutions and systems.
