Students find science, poetry a natural fit at Missoula Writing Collaborative fest
May 22, 2014 /
Natural science and poetry collided Wednesday at C.S. Porter Middle School during the first Missoula Writing Collaborative Poetry Fest.
The pairing was a natural fit, said Laurel Nakanishi, a resident writer with the collaborative who helped organize the event.
"Poets get their information from all sorts of things," Nakanishi said. "Poetry allows for just a different way of writing about these things in the world, especially these natural science phenomena."
