Teaming up to dig underground could help bring faster internet

The MDT Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Program encourages and supports the participation of companies owned and controlled by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals in transportation contracts.

Road crews digging up Missoula streets can be annoying, but now there may be a reason to be happy to see them.

The next time you’re sitting in slow traffic due to construction, you might want to focus on how the work could also be helping to potentially bring you faster internet.

"We actually have a lot of fiber in Missoula but the affordability and accessibility of it remains challenging," said Caitlin Copple, council member.
