Plum Creek is transitioning to a new, state-of-the-art Forestry Management System (FMS) in 2015. As a result, we currently have three excellent opportunities for FMS Service Desk Analysts to join our Forest Inventory and Planning (FI&P) group.

These positions will be located in three of the regions in which Plum Creek operates:

* Pearl, Mississippi or Athens, Georgia (Position #644)

* Fairfield, Maine or Escanaba, Michigan (Position #645)

* Columbia Falls, Montana or Coos Bay, Oregon (Position #646)

Position Details

As an FMS Service Desk Analyst at Plum Creek, you will have an opportunity to assist in providing efficient and effective problem identification and resolution for Plum Creek resources, and will work with Plum Creek’s forestry GIS system as well as Esri’s ArcGIS suite. We are looking for a customer-oriented analytical thinker with the ability to review issues and symptoms and determine appropriate solutions. The FMS Service Desk Analyst must be self-sufficient in completing support requests using Plum Creek’s forestry GIS solution, Esri’s ArcGIS suite, MS Access, and/or SQL for data mining purposes and should have strong organizational and communication skills.

As an FMS Service Desk Analyst at Plum Creek, you will be responsible for:

* Providing FMS Service Desk Support including answering support calls and emails, logging support requests and troubleshooting user requests and issues related to Plum Creek’s forestry GIS as they arise.

* Performing practical problem solving and follow through on support requests.

* Building and maintaining a comprehensive understanding of Plum Creek’s forestry GIS database structure, functionality, and design.

* Assisting in training efforts related to Plum Creek’s forestry GIS including creation and delivery of training materials.

* Assisting in testing and maintenance release deployments of Plum Creek’s forestry GIS

* Performing spatial data maintenance including heads up digitizing from ortho-rectified aerial photos, validation error correction, and data mining procedures.

* Mapping template creation and maintenance.

Travel: These positions will involve overnight travel for work related purposes. Travel is expected to be 25% to 50%. (Note: A valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record is required as a company vehicle may be driven periodically for specified assignments.)

Qualifications

Education:

* Bachelor’s degree or higher in GIS, Geography, Forestry, or other Natural Resources field required

* Graduate degree or Certificate in GIS preferred

Experience:

* 2 or more years of field and/or GIS experience preferred

* 1 or more years of customer service experience preferred

* Experience working with SQL or the Microsoft Office 2010 suite including Access required

Required Skills

* Familiarity with ArcGIS suite

* Ability to work both in a team environment and individually with limited supervision

* Ability to adapt to changing priorities and learn new concepts and applications quickly

Compensation & Benefits

* Targeted starting base salary: $41,000 to $54,400

* This is a salaried, "non-exempt" position, which means overtime will be paid for hours worked beyond 40 per week.

* Targeted annual bonus: 5%

* No relocation assistance is available for this position
