University of Montana headed for record fundraising year; gifts reach $36 million

The fiscal year that ends on the last day of June could go down in the history books as a record year for the University of Montana, with donors showing more confidence in the economy and the school’s new fundraising campaign.

The university last week announced a $5 million gift from an anonymous donor to establish a scholarship fund for students with financial need.
