Chief Exec Vincent’s speech: Butte-Silver Bow County on ‘right track’

Chief Executive Matt Vincent says Butte-Silver Bow is "on the right track" on many fronts, including a goal-oriented budget process, departments "energized" with new leaders and a government more responsive to the public.

Vincent, in a "state of the city" address to commissioners and a packed council chambers Wednesday night, said he did not run on a platform of "that’s the way we’ve always done it" or "if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it."

"We are the ‘can do city’ and I challenged this community to the belief that we can do better," said Vincent, who narrowly defeated former Chief Executive Paul Babb in the November 2012 election.
