Early intervention helps prepare kids

Preschool children will enjoy story time in the Capitol today — an annual tradition which marks the Week of the Young Child.

From 9-11 a.m., special guests will read stories to children in the Rotunda. The children can also make bookmarks and will receive a book to take home. The event is free and open to the public.

It’s one of many activities being held in Helena to celebrate the Week of the Young Child, which runs through Friday.

The national celebration seeks to draw attention to the needs of the youngest members of our communities. The events in Helena are organized by the Early Childhood Coalition, a diverse group of professionals and parents focused on improving services to children under 8 years old.
