Lilly Ledbetter champions equal pay for women in Bozeman speech
April 1, 2014 /
Lilly Ledbetter told a Bozeman audience Monday that she lost her legal battle for equal pay for equal work, but she won the war by helping to change the law and making life a little fairer for other American women.
The fight matters to everyone, not just women, and it is far from finished, Ledbetter told a crowd of some 900 students, staff and community members at Montana State University.
"Equal pay for equal work is a family affair — it touches my husband, my children, every person," Ledbetter said in her Alabama drawl.
