University of Montana debates criteria for performance-based funding

Anything from retention rates to special degree programs exclusive to the University of Montana could determine how much money UM receives from the state next year.

At a forum Wednesday, University officials continued to debate the model for allocating money to Montana’s universities based on schools’ performances.

The final metrics will be presented to the Board of Regents in May. UM officials will host another forum Thursday 3/27 at 2 p.m. in UC 327.
