U. of Maryland data breach affects 300,000

The records of more than 300,000 faculty, staff, students and affiliated personnel at the University of Maryland were breached, the school’s president announced Wednesday.

In a letter, President Wallace D. Loh said that people’s financial records had not been compromised, even though their personal information was hacked.
