LMG Security holds Network Forensics Class in UM Cyber Innovation Lab

LMG Security
http://www.lmgsecurity.com announced Feb. 4 that it will conduct their groundbreaking class "Network
Forensics: Tracking Hackers Through Cyberspace" at the University of Montana’s Cyber Innovation Lab.
Taught by the authors themselves, this fast-paced class is designed to teach students how to follow a
cyber attacker’s footprints and analyze evidence from the network environment.

The class will give students hands-on experience analyzing covert channels, carving cached Web pages
out of proxies, identifying attackers and victims using flow records, carving malware from packet captures
and correlating the evidence to build a solid case all packed into a dense four days, Feb. 6-9, with handson
technical labs throughout the class.

"The University of Montana is pleased to partner with LMG Security, one of the founding sponsors of our
new Cyber Innovation Laboratory, to offer a course in cybersecurity," UM Provost Perry Brown said. "This
collaboration will lead to educational opportunities for local businesses and University staff charged with
maintaining network and information security. The course represents a growing presence of information
technology companies in Missoula coupled with expanded University offerings in cybersecurity."

"We are very pleased to be able to offer this class to Montana companies that might not be able to attend
one of the larger national events in places such as Las Vegas or Washington, D.C.," said Sheri Davidoff,
owner of LMG Security. "The opportunity to use the new Cyber Lab makes it even more exciting. It’s great
to see the cooperation between local business and the University because it’s a win-win for everyone
involved – especially the students."
