Butte launches state’s first fiber optic network; Bullock throws switch

Gov. Steve Bullock threw the switch, so to speak, on Montana’s first community hybrid fiber optic network Tuesday.

In front of 125 community leaders, Bullock helped launch Butte’s high-speed Internet network, the only one of its kind in the state, at an open house in the Thornton Building ballroom.

"It makes Butte, America, that much more attractive," Bullock said. "It really is the backbone to be able to interact with consumers, with students, with one another."
