Here’s a secret–Glacier and Yellowstone National Parks close many of their roads to regular traffic in the winter (notable exception: the wildlife-laden Lamar Valley), but the parks themselves stay open, making for ideal winter wildlife safaris. Snowmobiles and snowcoaches can motor you into Yellowstone, while skis, snowshoes and guides serve as your ticket to wildlife sightings in both Glacier and Yellowstone.
