December 10, 2013 /
Hours after announcing his re-election bid Monday, Gov. John Kitzhaber reflected on Oregon’s economic recovery since he took office, saying the state today is one of the fastest-growing in the nation.
Kizhaber, speaking for a third year at the annual Oregon Leadership Summit in Portland, said employers have added back nearly 60,000 jobs since October 2011. At the same time, unemployment has fallen from 9.5 percent to 7.7 percent.
