Montana Talent Available – Molecular and Cellular Biology PhD

Position Sought For Molecular and Cellular PhD Relocating To Montana

Objective: Seeking a position with a firm requiring the skillsets of an experienced medical researcher in order to develop innovative solutions

Education: PharmD (2004) and PhD (2008) from the University of Florence (Italy)

Post Doctoral Work: National Cancer Institute

Current Position: Currently a Research Fellow in the Urologic Oncology Branch of the National Cancer Institute in Bethesda, MD. Research and work is in the area of oncogenesis (the induction and formation of tumors). The work is directed towards finding innovative ways to improve the treatment of cancer by leveraging experimental techniques in molecular and cellular biology.

In my current work, through research and clinical programs, I have been given the opportunity to study molecular mechanisms with the use of the most advanced experimental techniques in both molecular and cellular biology. It has also required me to analyze, interpret and communicate the results to multiple audiences with the goal of using the research to develop improved treatments. To be successful, I have had to think creatively and engage both my fellow scientists and trainees assigned to me in order to expedite results. In essence, I am very comfortable in an environment where individuals have to self-organize to be efficient and are faced with demanding timelines.

As a PharmD, I have an inherent interest in drug discovery and development. Throughout my tenure at the National Institute of Health, I have set ambitious goals that revolve around determining which compounds have the greatest probability of success and to build a solid scientific foundation for further development. While my focus has been on cancer, I am now looking for a firm that needs scientists with an aggressive mindset to expand current solutions within any specific scientific or medical marketplace. Finally, in considering me for a position, one should note that I take communication skills very seriously-both verbal and written. I am frequently called upon to present my results in both English and Italian and even work as an interpreter for visiting Italian patients.

Thank you in advance for reviewing my note and CV, which includes a summary of my research experience. Once you finish your review, I hope you will contact me to discuss opportunities as I hope to bring my skills and experience to "Big Sky Country".

Sincerely,

Fabiola Cecchi
