Butte, Montana Inventory: 115 buildings unsound; another 113 need future fixing

At least 115 houses or other buildings in the Butte area are in poor or unsound condition and need immediate repairs or cleanup, and 114 more need fixing in the near future, according to preliminary findings of a city-county inventory project.

Many of the houses and buildings have not had property taxes paid on them since 2009, and 10 of them — four in Walkerville-Centerville — were rated as unsound because of bad roofs, walls, foundations or other major structural problems.
