Powered by the sun: Grants from Northwestern Energy allow Hamilton nonprofits to install solar panels
November 5, 2013 /
Flipping on the light switch this winter will be a bit more economical for a pair of Hamilton nonprofit groups, thanks mainly to a local business’ efforts in obtaining a NorthWestern Energy http://www.northwesternenergy.com/ grant.
This week, Janelle Stauff and her father, Curt, of the Victor-based Sunelco were busy installing 54 solar panels on the Bitterroot Humane Association shelter’s roof.
When the electricians finish getting the solar system online, the panels are expected to generate 13.8 kilowatts of electricity.
