Crow Tribe in Montana begins economic development projects

Economic development now in the works on the Crow Indian Reservation include convenience stores in Crow Agency, Pryor, Saint Xavier, Wyola, Lodge Grass and Fort Smith.

The tribe recently received a $10 million loan from First Interstate Bank, and the building of these convenience stores ties in with Chairman Darrin Old Coyote’s mission of "positive change" on the reservation.

Crow tribe moving ahead with hydroelectric project

Leaders of the Crow Indian Tribe say they are moving forward with a 9-megawatt hydroelectric project on their southeastern Montana reservation. Tribal officials said Friday that construction on the Yellowtail Afterbay Hydroelectric Project could begin in the next year or two. It’s expected to be operational by 2017.
