Bozeman, Montana entrepreneurs turning to Kickstarter to help fund creative endeavors

Something about a song is lost between playing it live and laying the track down in studio. Professional musician Aaron Howard played every instrument and recorded and produced each song on his first four albums. But he’s heard that adage from enough fans that he decided to make a drastic change with his upcoming fifth album. Howard has booked a formal studio and session musicians to recreate that on-stage chemistry.

The roughly $15,000 price tag carried by the full production was a little too much to stomach, however. Other musicians pointed him toward a nontraditional means of paying for the recording time: Kickstarter.
