Last week’s announcement that NorthWestern Energy has reached an agreement to buy PPL Montana’s hydroelectric facilities is great news for Montana. The acquisition, if it is approved by the Montana Public Service Commission, will provide clean, sustainable electricity for Montana residents and business owners for a great many decades to come. The dams will be dedicated to serve our Montana customers. The price of their power will be based on the cost of producing it, not on volatile changes in the supply market.
