Young Crow entrepreneur builds a business to lift her community – KTE Construction

The MDT Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Program encourages and supports the participation of companies owned and controlled by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals in transportation contracts.

Kimberly Takes Enemy credits the wisdom of her elders for her accomplishments in business.

The owner of KTE Construction says both her grandparents and her parents taught her humility and fostered leadership. Due to the former, Takes Enemy is reluctant to broadcast the success she has achieved. But, when she reflects on the latter, she hopes that by speaking up she can inspire others.

"I want to set an example for all the young people," she said. "They can do the same thing, even being on the reservation."
