New student enrollment up at UM; overall numbers down
September 26, 2013/
New student enrollment at the University of Montana was up this fall semester, though overall enrollment fell below last year’s levels, the school announced today.
The university announced a headcount of 14,525 students, exceeding the school’s initial projections, but marking a decrease of roughly 418 students from last year.
UM President Royce Engstrom said the school has launched a series of efforts to improve outreach to new students and their parents, and on some levels, the efforts are already paying off.
